Five months after leaving the bench of the Lions of Senegal, Aliou Cissé takes the reins of the Libyan selection. African champion in 2022 and double World Cup winner with Senegal, the Senegalese technician is committed until 2027 with the main mission of qualifying Libya for the CAN.
If this choice may surprise, it is explained by a sports reconstruction project and an attractive salary, making him one of the highest paid selectors on the continent (50 million FCFA per month). He will also have to play his card in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, where Libya
occupies second place in its group behind Cameroon.
