Senegal national team coach Pape Thiaw announced this Thursday the list of players called up for the 5th and 6th rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The list features several new faces and some expected returns.
New faces for the Lions
Among the newcomers are Assane Diao, who has been making waves with Real Betis in La Liga, as well as Richard Sagna (AS Douanes), Ilay Camara, Pape Amadou Diallo, and Yehvann Diouf. These young talents will have the opportunity to prove their worth in the national jersey.
The return of Moussa Ndiaye
Absent since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Moussa Ndiaye returns to the squad. The defender, currently playing in Belgium, will have
the opportunity to relaunch his career with the Lions.
With these selections, Pape Thiaw demonstrates his desire to inject new blood into his squad while maintaining a solid base. These upcoming playoff matches will be a real test for these new recruits.
