On March 12, 2025, Senegalese customs authorities incinerated 2,605.16 kg of cocaine, representing an estimated value of 208 billion CFA francs. This major destruction took place in the kilns of the SOCOCIM cement plant, located in Rufisque, in the presence of administrative authorities, defense and security forces, and international partners engaged in the fight against drug trafficking.
These historic seiz
ures were made in 2024 by several customs units across the country, illustrating the government's commitment to combating drug trafficking. This mass incineration aims to permanently destroy these illicit substances and send a strong signal to criminal networks active in the subregion.
